How long has Bear Essentials been going?
Launched in November 2005. Tell us a bit about the range and the type of mom Bear Essentials is looking for? "Super sussed" mom’s/parents who know the value of investing in “customized first aid” which has been designed around your children’s age group. This same mom/parent has a keen sense of style and would choose an environmentally friendly denim pouch, over plastic, any day. The innovative & stylish denim Preggie Bag is aimed at the same type of women who values time & hates the hassle of hunting down those essential items she needs for her stay in hospital. Besides bringing out this incredible range, I know that you are also a dedicated mom of two children, a marketing consultant to a large Financial Institution (although I believe you resigned end April), how do you cope juggling a new venture and looking after a family? Motto: don’t waste precious time hunting for the small stuff. (Also a wonderful hubby who likes to get his hands dirty – nappies and all).

Favourite Colour: In the astute words of Henry Ford: black, black & black - okay so the new black, is Blue - Bear Essential Blue! Favourite City: Have seen many, but there is only one! Yup, can the REAL windy city please take a bow: thank you Cape Town. Jo'burg for it's lights, camera and you get ACTION as well as every new port for the new experience. Favourite Shop: Besides Kids Emporium? Garden Centre must be the smallest shopping centre on the planet and should be classified as a “shop”: your one stop, intimate euro-centric shopping spot. Favourite brand (besides your own): Up market local is lekker (Jenni Button, YDE, etc) more and more I’m supporting South African products because we really are good at what we do! Happiest time to date: Sorry, there are a few. The day I met my hubby, the birth of our son Gabriel & daughter Mia (who was conceived in Argentina & borne in Africa hence the name Mia: Made In Argentina, Manufactured with love in Africa). Hobbies / Interests: Have you seen the movie: “wedding crashers” – I think the hubby & I - just found our latest hobby. Motivational message / inspiration to pass on to women today: “The whole world steps aside for a women that knows where she is going - but do it with a clear conscience”! |
